The fall season opener turned out to be exactly the start Assyriska FF for. On the road against FBK Karlstad, the team won 0–2 and kept a clean sheet, marking their second straight victory
After a long summer break, it was time for Matchday 15 in Ettan Norra, and Assyriska traveled to Karlstad with the goal of building on the form they’d shown in the first half of the season. They did just that—and then some.
The match was evenly matched and scoreless for a long time, but in the second half, the visiting team came to life. In the 68th minute, Amadou Kalabane scored to make it 0–1, and when FBK Karlstad also had a player sent off three minutes later, it became difficult for the home team to recover. Assyriska managed their lead admirably and, in the 89th minute, sealed the victory when Felix Felder Aaltonen scored to make it 0–2.
With this victory, Assyriska FF has Assyriska FF won its last two matches. They’ve climbed to ninth place in the standings, four points above the relegation zone. Assyriska has played well for much of the spring season but has been unlucky with late goals conceded, which has led to a meager point total. With two straight wins and newfound confidence, there’s hope for a brighter fall and a strong finish to the season.
